The Rules

• 1 Monthly payouts by reputation share. Each month, users are paid according to their reputation — the percentage of total reputation you hold is related to the percentage of that month's total budget you earn. Users must setup their Stripe account on their profile page to be eligible for payouts.
• 2 Reputation comes from points earned from stars. Your reputation is based on stars earned from Members. Maximize stars earned by interacting with others' content and posting remixable or foundational content that can be useful to others.
• 3 Membership is admin-selected and member-voted. Members are selected by admins for their contributions, and existing members can vote on adding new members.
• 4 The algorithm can change month to month. The exact rules and reward algorithm may change from month to month. It is currently based on total (all-time) reputation, but will move to monthly reputation in the future.
• 5 Payouts are capped to limit concentration. While payouts are based on total reputation, they are capped according to an inequality threshold based on Pareto dynamics, so rewards don't concentrate too heavily on a small group.
• 6 The exact algorithm is public to users with an account. Logged-in users can view the current algorithm details in the Infinity Forum repository on this site.

• 7 $400 minimum pool during ad months. During any month where an ad is being run for this campaign, there is a minimum prize pool of $400 (on other months the minimum is $0). If nobody earns any stars that month, the first person to sign up and set up their payment details receives the entire pool — so members have a real incentive to star posts and reward the right people, since otherwise a non-admin who did nothing but sign up first still walks away with the money.
• 8 Admins don't get paid. Admins are excluded from payouts.
• 9 Remix with attribution. Users can remix any content exclusively on this website, so long as they use our internal tool to cite their sources. They earn points when users who build on their work earn points.
• 10 Terms required. Users must agree to the Terms to be eligible.
• 11 Different types of content are weighted differently. Currently, code and general points are adjusted to be worth the same amount despite having different populations. Future versions will apply this same rule to art, fiction, and non fictional content and perhaps more.
• 12 Infinity Forum is in alpha. There may be bugs that accidentally impact payouts/reputation. We will do our best to make it right.
